Snowman Wallhanging

 The finished project is 9-1/2" x 11"

You will need:

1 7-1/4" x 6" square (for your embroidered piece)
2 side border pieces measuring 3" x 7-1/4"
2 top/bottom border pieces measuring 3" x 10"
2 tab pieces measuring 3" x 3"
1 backing piece 10" x 11-1/2"
1 piece batting or warm & natural 10" x 11-1/2"  (optional)
1 dowel piece 10" long

1. First embroider the design on a larger piece of fabric and then after the embroidery is finished, cut it down to the size needed.

 2. Next sew together using a 1/2" seam allowance the side border pieces to the embroidered pieces to form your panel.

3. Now sew the bottom and top border pieces on using a 1/2" seam allowance and you have your top!

4. Sew along one edge of the tab pieces using 1/4" seam allowance, turn right side out and press.

 5. Place the top down face up, place the backing right sides together and then the batting on top of that, (or leave the batting off if you prefer a flat wall hanging) now sew around the outside leaving the top edge open, snip the corners close to the stitching, turn inside out.  Now fold  the top edge in 1/2", place the tabs in place and topstitch across the top and then around the entire edge of the wallhanging.

6. Slide a piece of dowel through the tabs to hang it with!
